Gurudwara Nim Sahib is sacred to the memory of Guru Tegh Bahadur who rested under the Nim Tree while touring the Malwa region. The sacred tree is more than 300 years old.

The leaves of one of the branches, which was touched by Guru Tegh Bahadur, are said to be tasteless, while the remaining leaves possess the natural bitter taste.

The Guru Granth Sahib mentions how, with blessings of the Guru, behaviour can be changes and bitterness removed by good company.

To prevent further decay of bark, we advised the gurudwara management to remove the granite flooring form the base and add plaster of cow dung, mixed with turmeric and copper sulphate. This has restored the tree to health.

Setting up of the Museum has been undertaken with Financial Assistance from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India
