In course of his travels, Guru Nanak visited Sialkot, in Pakistan, several times. During one of his journeys, Guru Nanak arrived here, via Saidpur, from Nankana Sahib, then known as Talwandi, and rested under the Ber Tree situated south east of the town. Gurudwara Baba-Di-Ber Sahib commemorates Guru Nanak’s visit to the city.

The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) of Pakistan carried out extensive renovation and restoration work of the gurudwara in 2014.

Setting up of the Museum has been undertaken with Financial Assistance from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India
